Principal's Message

  Dear Soleado Families,

It was a busy week at Soleado!

On Thursday, we conducted our annual Earthquake Disaster drill. During this drill, we practiced how to duck, cover and hold under desks, as well as evacuate to the blacktop in the event that our buildings would be deemed unsafe. All staff have assigned positions that we run-through each year, to practice in the event of a real emergency. I’m happy to say the drill went great!

On Friday, we also practiced our first Lock-down drill, which is also called a Shelter-in-Place drill. In the event of an actual emergency, please note that you will be notified by either myself or district officials. Our priority is always safety first!

On a related note, please make sure you have downloaded the Parent Square APP and have enabled your notifications. This will ensure you are getting district wide notifications, such as those in an emergency, as well as are up to date with information from your child’s teacher, and myself. The best way to do that is here:
  • Adjust the contact notification preferences (when to receive email or text messages) by following the instructions here.
  • Verify your parent/guardian contact profile through your Aeries portal (instructions here)
In other news, we were visited by PVPUSD Superintendent, Dr. Serrano on Tuesday at our monthly PTA meeting. Thank you to all who were able to make it! We always welcome the support of our parent volunteers in every realm, but especially in our PTA and Booster club organizations! It’s not too late to join!

Have a great week,
CC Hlavac, Principal
