Dear Parents,
The PVPUSD schools do not cook hot meals at the school site.  Lunches need to be ordered the day before.  On Monday we order for Tuesday.  On Friday we order for Monday.  If there is a Monday holiday, we order on Friday.
If your child is absent on the day we order, you have 2 options:
           1. Bring a lunch when your child returns
            2.  Send me an email before 8:30 on the day that we order lunch. If your child is absent again, it's ok, your child will not be charged for the lunch that he or she orders.  But remember to send another email the next day.
There have been many kids who come to school after being absent that don't have a lunch and they want a hot lunch.  If your child eats the hot lunch without ordering, one of the upper grade students may not get one.
Thank you!

Soleado Carnival Funraiser

Dear Parents,
As part of the silent auction at Soleado's fundraiser earlier this year, the first grade teachers offered a "Playdate with your Teacher".  This event will take place on Monday, October 23 from 1:30 pm to 3:00pm.  Ms. Burson and I will be showing a Halloween Movie (not a scary one), doing a Halloween craft and having some popcorn.  If you already signed up at the Carnival, I look forward to seeing you.  If your child is still interested in joining us, the cost is $25.  Please make a check out to Soleado Booster Club. Mrs. Burson and I  need a final count by Friday.
If you have any questions, please email me or give me a call at extension 208.
Thank you.

Dear Parents,

Friday, September 15 is International Dot Day. It began with the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.  It’s a story about a little girl who didn’t believe she was an artist and an art teacher who inspired her by telling her to “make a mark and see where it takes you”.   This book is perfect as it fits in nicely with fixed and growth mindsets.

This week we will be doing some “dot” activities. I would also like to send home a project for the family to do.  You will receive a piece of paper with a black dot that your child has strategically  placed on the paper.  As a family, please “make your mark” and return the finished art work on Friday.

Thank you!

School Supplies

2017-2018 Soleado School Supply Program

Time to pre purchase your 2017-2018 School Supplies

~ Support our School, Save Time, and Gas.

At the beginning of every school year, students are asked to bring in a variety of school and classroom supplies. This list includes general use items such as pencils, pens, speciality paper, materials for art projects, folders, etc. We also use the supply funds for Scholastic Weekly Readers, agendas and many other items that your child will be using throughout the school year.

We understand that it can be difficult to shop for all of these items at the beginning of the school year, so we take care of the work for you....

The Soleado School Supplies Program offers the opportunity for parents to pre-purchase the yearly school supplies now. This includes all back-to-school supplies as well as the materials mentioned above that your student will need during the school year. This means you aren't running around looking for those hard to get oil pastels, folders, pencil sharpeners, etc...on the teachers' list!

We will do it for you!

To assure that your child's supplies will be waiting for them in the classroom on the first day of school, pre-orders are being taken now.

Please have your donation in by June 5th.

Total cost per student: $65 (K-5)

($40 Student Classroom Supplies $20 Grade Level Supplies  $5 Student Scholastic Subscriptions)
