The Fun Run is happening on March 5! This is a great opportunity to support Soleado. Last year our school raised $30,000.This year our goal is to at least meet or exceed this goal. Our class goal is $1595. So far we have only raised $160. That's only 10%. (Thank you to those who have already turned in your pledge forms!) This money helps to support Technology, Art programs and Physical Education. Information went home last week, if you did not receive it you can still register online. T
Thank you for investing in our school.

The PVPUSD schools do not cook hot meals at the school site. Lunches need to be ordered the day before. On Monday we order for Tuesday. On Friday we order for Monday. If there is a Monday holiday, we order on Friday.
If your child is absent on the day we order, you have 2 options:
1. Bring a lunch when your child returns
2. Send me an email before 8:30 on the day that we order lunch. If your child is absent again, it's ok, your child will not be charged for the lunch that he or she orders. But remember to send another email the next day.
There have been many kids who come to school after being absent that don't have a lunch and they want a hot lunch. If your child eats the hot lunch without ordering, one of the upper grade students may not get one.
Please join us on Tuesday, October 31 at 9:00 on the lower black top for our Halloween Parade.

(DONATIONS DO NOT COME TO OUR DISTRICT, BUT 100% of YOUR $30 REGISTRATION FEE DOES)
Soleado Carnival Funraiser
As part of the silent auction at Soleado's fundraiser earlier this year, the first grade teachers offered a "Playdate with your Teacher". This event will take place on Monday, October 23 from 1:30 pm to 3:00pm. Ms. Burson and I will be showing a Halloween Movie (not a scary one), doing a Halloween craft and having some popcorn. If you already signed up at the Carnival, I look forward to seeing you. If your child is still interested in joining us, the cost is $25. Please make a check out to Soleado Booster Club. Mrs. Burson and I need a final count by Friday.
If you have any questions, please email me or give me a call at extension 208.
First Grade Halloween Music Program
The 1st grade Halloween Music Program will be on Tuesday, October 31st, in the MPR, immediately following the Soleado Halloween Parade. The Parade begins at 9:00 and our Music Program will begin around 10:00 and will end by 10:30. Hope you can join us!

Friday, September 15 is International Dot Day. It began with the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. It’s a story about a little girl who didn’t believe she was an artist and an art teacher who inspired her by telling her to “make a mark and see where it takes you”. This book is perfect as it fits in nicely with fixed and growth mindsets.
This week we will be doing some “dot” activities. I would also like to send home a project for the family to do. You will receive a piece of paper with a black dot that your child has strategically placed on the paper. As a family, please “make your mark” and return the finished art work on Friday.
