Dear Families of 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students,


I’m excited to let you know that we will be having Battle of the Books (BOB), again this year. For those of you that have participated in the past, it will look a bit different due to our current situation, but still basically the same. The basics of BOB are: students read books from a list provided, they then discuss the books, and if they want, they participate in the “Battle” against other students in our district on teams. 


Here are more of the specifics for this year:

Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 6 where I will go over all the information, and answer any questions you may have. If your child is  interested in joining BOB, please click on the link below to a sign up genius--this is where you will sign up. You will then be emailed the Zoom link.


The students will be choosing which books they would like to read from the list provided, and then join our librarian, Mrs. Jarrard on Tuesdays from 11:30-12:00 via Zoom to discuss the books. This will allow students from both morning and afternoon hybrid classes, as well as our distance learning classes to join. The “Battle” will be held on a Saturday in May, with the format to be determined at a later date ie. virtual, etc.. Your child doesn’t have to go to every meeting on Tuesday, just the ones they read the book for, or are interested in hearing about. The “Battle” is also an optional thing.
