I look out my window and see the blue sky.
Today is sunny:
sunglasses, hats, and then some sunscreen.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather
Look outside, what is the weather?
I open the door and everything’s gray.
Today is cloudy:
long sleeves, pants, and feeling rowdy.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather.
Look outside, what is the weather?
The air is hot and sticky and moist.
Today is humid:
icky, sticky, like a shower humid.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather
Look outside, what is the weather?
I’m taking a walk and suddenly I’m wet.
Today is rainy:
umbrella, boots, and and jacket maybe.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather.
Look outside, what is the weather?
I hear a loud noise and run to get my mom.
Today it’s hailing:
falling balls of ice are a bit scary.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather:
look outside, what is the weather?
I stick out my tongue to catch a snowflake.
Today it’s snowing:
snowball fights and build a snowman.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather.
Look outside, what is the weather?
Driving to school and we can’t see ahead.
Today is foggy:
misty clouds roll all around me.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather.
Look outside, what is the weather?
The trees all shake and the leaves blow wild.
Today is windy:
hang onto my hat so it won’t leave me.
Sunny, cloudy, humid, rainy,
hailing, snowing, foggy, windy, weather.
Look outside, what is the weather?
This song helps students learn basic spatial concepts by pairing opposite words with songs and (hand) signs. Learn it to help prompt your child when they give that familiar vague response, "right there." I prompt with these signs in the speech room.
